[HotHelp] What is the difference between paper stock and card stock?
Paper types are categorized by weight, which varies depending on the measurement system used. In countries using the European system, paper weight is measured in grams per square meter (gsm or g/m²). In the US, it's measured in pounds (lb).
For writing and printing purposes, such as letterheads and stationery, paper typically ranges from 60 to 120 gsm (20 to 80 lb) and is referred to as paper or text stock. Heavier paper, used for business cards , postcards, greeting cards, and similar items, is known as card stock. Which can range from 13pt, 14pt, 16pt to 32pt.
